We got skunked by the surf in Ireland, but we had lots of fun along the way. We flew from San Diego to Shannon.  After landing we picked up our Euro van and were off.  Our first stop was Galway, a great international town with lots of pubs, back packers, and Guinness.  From there we went North to find some surf, there was no surf, the ocean was glass with zero ground swell.  Spidle, had no surf but it was a fun drive around the Gaelic area.  Then we went South through the Cliffs of Moher and entered into Lahinch.  One of my favorite little towns with a sweet setup.
