We dropped into New England on the tail end of a 10 day rain event in the fall of 2005.  Flew into Providence, RI picked up the rent a car and were off to see if we could find some surf.  These pictures were taken just outside of the town of Newport, RI.  We snapped surf pics from Ocean drive & along the cliff walk in search for Ruggles.  There are a handful of fun looking breaks, lots of reef, rock, and beach breaks too.  Although there was  chest high+ ride-able swell,  we didn't find any amazing surf, but some locals told us of several times they had "wicked" hurricane swells early in the fall.
