The sun came up
later in Mainland Mexico, first light was around 6:30 in the morning.
We logged about 7 hours of water time per day with a wave count that would
be equivalent to months worth of surfing in Southern California. We
went through some heavy check points heading North through Michoacán & back
into Colima. We dropped our one buddy off to take a cab up to
Manzanillo, we had an hour to kill before we had to be at the Colima airport
to head back to Southern California. We didn't really have enough time
to surf, we pulled up to Pascuales for a check, it was firing.
The only guy out was towing in to these grinding tubes that were breaking in
a couple feet of water, pipeline style, without a ski the waves were
backbreakers.
